Brisbane machine cancels

 

Type 1

Columbia machine cancel (Campbell's description of this as a Barr-Fyke machine is incorrect) comprising of a round cancel followed by 6 wavy lines interrupted by 2 vertical lines.

Earliest usage June 15 1906

 

Type 2

A round dial followed by 6 horizontal lines.

Earliest usage August 17 1908

 

Type 1 & 2

A proving cover that the one machine had both types 1 and 2 installed simultaneously. Also note the turned screw.

 

Type 3a

7 horizontal lines with the third to sixth lines interrupted to display the detail.

Earliest usage March 4 1909 - 1911

 

Type 4b

A doubled ringed dial followed by 6 horizontal lines where lines 3 7 4 are interrupted to show the word "QUEENSLAND"

Earliest usage October 10 1911
