Aliens and Space Needles

March 7th, 2005

Hello all mortal entities. What's new with me you might ask? Well, there is two recent developments having to do with the title of this column. The first is I recently ordered myself a new computer! It's

not here yet, but should be shipped to me within a week or two. The image to the left is pretty much what it will look like, isn't it pretty!? I think I shall name it either 'Lord Walter Rothschild' or 'Sir Francis Drake,' or possibly Archimedes. Anybody have a preference over which name? I like them both. For anyone curious, I ordered it from Alienware, a great company who

gets really good word of mouth about their service, and has really good high end computers. Once it comes I shall force myself to work on projects at least an hour a day when I have work, and at least three hours a day on my days off, pending whether I'm home or not. Hopefully within a few months I can start updating this site with some really cool work, and eventually down the road get myself a job that I actually want.

And speaking of jobs, that brings me to my second tidbit of news. I get to go to Seattle for 2 weeks to help open a new theatre! While the whole working their thing will suck, it's still a free trip and hotel stay. Plus I'll be making almost twice as much the few weeks I'm out there than I otherwise would be making. Tentatively (my manager hasn't gotten the exact details yet so it could change) I'm leaving the 20th of March and coming back the 4th of April. So hopefully I'll write in this again a few days before I leave, then I'll report back whence I return. I'm attempting to make myself write in here more, and so far it isn't working too well, obviously. Oh well, a monthly update is better than none at all I suppose.

What else is new in the world of Matt? Hmmm. Not too much, other than those things already mentioned. Ohh, I know! I might get a manicure tomorrow. I've never had one before, but I don't like how my cuticles look, and every now and then in the corners of my fingers a bit of dead skin will start to peal and I'll pull it back and it hurts like bloody hell, so hopefully that'd help with that. Would it? I don't know. Sure it would! Why wouldn't it?

I suppose the only other thing is there is a chance I'll be moving to Oakland a month from now. But we'll see how that goes, it's nothing set in stone. Anyhow, that's about all from me.
