Not since the great man himself Liberace - has such an recording impressed me with it's sound and brilliant technique.
Valentino ( Jackie Farn ) has always been a regular performer in Vegas for many years now - this new CD is a beautiful compilation of his Live Performances at the New Desert Inn.
His Classical Masterpieces in his own superb style are all here ..from the opening track "Toccata/Phantom of the Opera" to his favourite composers Grieg,Rachmanninoff,Tchaikovsky,Chopin,Beethoven..and even Gershwin in his shinning Classical Medley.
All played on his beautiful custom made Yamaha piano , he even switches to his Elkavox Accordion for great renditions of "Delilah" Vida Loca" "Till" - and his stunning arrangement of his "Cowboy Medley" certainly hit home with the Vegas audience - But be warned - in the hands of Valentino this is no ordinary Accordion, as you will hear on these tracks.
His songs from the great Musicals like "West Side Story" and "Le Miserable" are played with so much feeling, that it's hard to believe your not in the Theatre watching the production.
His versions of "Calendar Girl" " and "Strangers in the Night" also gives so much musical Variety to the CD. It is hard to pick a favourite track - although his closing arrangement of "My Way" is a fine example of his showmanship, and tribute to Sinatra !
Also his "Lord of the Dance" is another fine example of his Virtuosity.
Valentino is a true Master of his stagecraft .. with his gutsy original arrangements, and live vibrant personality ...he projects it all to his audiences - and over the years has perfected his sounds to such an extent ..it is in no way "a musical box of tricks' but a head on dynamic stage show that has brought him standing ovations throughout the world.
So dim the lights, pour yourself a drink - turn the volume up - And I promise you - you will be in the audience watching the King of the Music - Valentino.
