John Macdonald's version of "Jacqueline Waltz" from his CD "The Best of John Macdonald" has been chosen by a Major South Korean Film Company - Jininsa Films, for the opening music of a New Comedy Film "Mutt Boy"

Director KT KWAK
John Macdonald

Film Poster

It seems after a internet search for the most suitable accordion music...the film's composer Yoon Min-Hwa chose a waltz composed by the late Will Starr , with John's arrangement and recorded version fitting a sequence to the film perfectly.
The film's Producers were so impressed by John's version ..Frantic negotiations went on for the rights to use the recording from Rajon Music in Sydney ..who own the worldwide rights to John Macdonald's early tracks.

Some scenes from the recently Released Movie

The music will be used for the opening scene of the film, which has just been released throughout Asia - and Hopefully later Worldwide
Here is what The Korea Herald said about the film and it's Director KT KWAK :

"Mutt Boy" is essentially an enjoyable frivolity for almost every demographic. Credit the agreeably mainstream touch of Kwak, who has turned himself into a Korean Steven Spielberg of sorts with a knack for producing entertainment that flits around the surface of the brain without taxing it too much.
"The Korea Herald" 16/7/03

The track was originally recorded in Sydney for "Seven Records" - but a new version was re-recorded by John at Alberts Studio in Sydney shortly after, for a Special "Best Of Album" and was produced by Chris Neal.

* Just a footnote ...One of the original Backing Musicians on the 1978 track ...was none other than Guitarist Tommy Emmanuel.

"Mutt Boy" The Movie is now available on DVD ! To Order Click Here !

A Special Two Disc Limited Edition of the Movie, has also been released - Which includes Interviews, with the Stars and Director - plus behind the scenes of the making of the Movie, and Music Production.
