The Broadway Theatre is located in downtown Mt. Pleasant , and is one of the most haunted places in Central Michigan .

The Broadway was first a vaudeville house in the 1920’s, but was turned into a movie theatre, and it showed movies into the new century. But after Mt. Pleasant got a 11-screen multi-plex, the Broadway was sold to a group of community members, who turned it into a playhouse for community theatre.

There have been tales of ghostly happenings in the Broadway, and eerie feelings when roaming this theatre.

One story goes, that one night, the manager of the theatre was late in locking up, and it was nearly 2 am before he left. As he was leaving, he heard the sounds of voices, talking and laughing, but he knew that he had been the only one in the building. He quickly left, having a foreboding feeling about the voices.

Another manager of the theatre managed to get these foreboding voices onto tape. He was videotaping up in the old projection room one night, and when he watched the tape, there were voices, that hadn’t been there when he had done the taping.
