College Garth takes in stray and unwanted dogs from the local surrounding areas. These dogs are then available for re-homing within Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire – although exceptions may be made in special circumstances.

The Re-homing Process
If you wish to re-home a dog, you may place a "reserve" on it. This can only be done in person, reserves CANNOT be made over the phone. You will then receive a "homecheck" by a member of the College Garth team – which ensures that your home will be suitable for the dog (e.g. garden fencing is of an adequate height). A reference from your vet may be accepted if you are a great distance form the kennels. If your homecheck is successful, there will be a small charge made, and then the dog is yours to keep!

After Re-homing
We love to hear from new owners, so please feel free to send us letters/emails and photos letting us know how your new canine pal is getting on! These will be displayed in the kennels reception, and at any events we hold - and may also be displayed on our "
Success Stories" page. We also hold regular fundraising events such as sponsored dog walks, and dog shows – so why not come visit us so we can see for ourselves how well your dog is getting on! For contact details, please visit our Contact Page.
