GENERAL AFFIDAVIT
State of Wisconsin, County of Grant, SS:
In the matter of Claim of Maria Annia Hartung Widow of John Hartung Com. F 45 Regt. Ill. Vol.
On this 19th day of March, A.D. 1894, Personally appeared before me John O. Holmes Notary Public in and for the aforesaid County, duly authorized to administer oaths Theresa Montag aged 59 years, a resident of Paris Township, in the County of Grant, and State of Wisconsin, whose Post Office address is Keeler Grant County Wis.
John Terfruchte, aged 13 years, a resident of Paris Township, in the County of Grant and State of Wisconsin, whose Post Office address is Keeler Grant Co Wis. well known to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn, declared in relation to aforesaid case, as follows:
"Who State that they have been Personally acquainted with the above Named claimant for at least three years Last Past. And Personally know of their own Knowledge that Said Maria Annia Hartung, the above Named claimant Has Remaned [sic] the Widow of the above Named Soldier Since his Death, Dec. 12th 1893, to the Present date March 19th 1897, had She [R_______] [__________] Relations the fact Would have been known to us as Neighbor[__] & our intimate acquaintance With her as Near Neighbors- living not more than one fourth of a mile distant.
"This affidavit Was Written in our Prescence by our dictation by J. O. Holmes N.P. in Paris Township, Grant County, Wis. And not aided by any other Person or Written or Printed Statement or Recital attached as an Exhibit to our Statement."
We further declare that we have no interest in said case and are not concerned in its prosecution.
