John Hartung, a private of Company F, 45 Regiment Illinois Volunteers, was enrolled on the 13 day of Oct, 1864, at Dixon for 1 year, and is reported: "on Return for Dec. '64 recruit assigned to Co. Dec. 25, '64 at Savannah, Ga. and absent with leave at Savannah, Ga. since Dec. 27, 1864, and same on rolls for Dec. 31. '64 and Feby. 28. '65. Mar. and Apr, '65 present. and same to June 30, 1865. He was mustered out with Co. July 12, 1865 at Louisville, Ky. Hosp'l Records show him Apl. 21, '65 treated in Qurs. for Diarr. Chr. Apl. 22, '65 [Jaline?][Mixt 3] times day. Apl. 23, '65 continues. Apl. 24 to 26, '65 rest. Apl. 27, '65 to duty. May 11, '65 Rhematism. To duty May 12, '65.
