An original sixth plate tintype of engineers on Point Lookout, Tennessee, circa 1864. If you look close, you can see the some of the men are holding an axe and a hammer. The case is beautiful one, although there is a slight crack through the gilt medallion on the back, a very small nick on the right, front edge, and a chip broken out on the bottom edge. The photo is a little dark due to it's age. It was likely taken by photographer Linn. From The Fight For Chattanooga, a Time-Life book : "Not long after the firing died away on Lookout Mountain, an enterprising photographer from Ohio named Royan M. Linn arrived in Chattanooga, seeking to make his fortune from the battle that had already become famous. Linn set up his darkroom on top of the mountain, and for a studio he selected the most breathtaking panorama around-Point Lookout.
